In A.D 52 St. Thomas, one of the twelve disciples of Jesus Christ came to Malankara and converted the people into Nasranis. He installed 7 Churches in Kerala. The Churches are Niranam, Palayur, Kodungalloor, Paraur, Kothamangalam, Niranam, Nilackal & Kollam. The converted people are called "Marthoma Nasranis". Uthimoodu Marthoma Church is one of the oldest church in Ranny - Nilackal Diocese of Malankara Marthoma Syrian Church, founded in 14th November 1918 with 12 families. The church is situated in a small and beautiful town called Uhimoodu (Ranny - Pathanamthitta road) and it is 9 Kms from Pathanamthitta, 6 Kms from Ranny, 15 Kms from Kozhencherry and 7 Km from Vadasserikara. The present church is the third renovated church. The Church has more than 1000 members with 250 families. This church contributed 5 clergies and a full time Gospel Worker to Marthoma Sabha. The famous Olivumala Convention (Kizhakinte Maramon - Started by Sadhu Kochukunju Upadeshi) is organised by Uthimoodu Marthoma Church. Vicar: Rev. Susheel Varghese Tel.#: 0473 5227 111
